Mark Leone

Artos Z

Former international super-jumper Artos Z ridden by Mark Leone returned after 15 years to his place of birth, Zangersheide. Under the names of Crown Royal Artos Z and later Loro Piana Artos Z the high-quality grey stallion filled an impressive prize cupboard. In 1994 he came fourth in the `s-Hertogenbosch World Cup finals and he won several Grand Prix and World Cup qualifiers, such as those of Toronto and Washington, which makes Artos Z the second most successful Zangersheide-bred product after Ratina Z. The world-famous international jumping stallion Aerobic Z (Almé Z) who was sold at the PSI sales for the record amount at the time of DM 650,000 and jumped in the Barcelona Olympics, is closely related to Artos Z as their dams are full sisters.

These two Alme-sons have inherited their jumping genes also from their Holstein grandam Libelle, who jumped at international level herself and claimed fine results in, amongst other competitions, the Hamburg Derby. Also the international showjumping horses Keaton (Eaton du Rezidal), Allegro (Alme Z), Anika D (Alexis Z), Atlanta D (Alexis Z), Grisu (Goldfasan) and Hamlet (I Love You) are direct descendants of Libelle. In the U.S.A. Artos Z has already been used for breeding, which has so far resulted in 35 products. Five of Artos Z`s products are already starting in the international jumping sport, the best known being Crucial, Sledden and Above All.
